THE TEAM NEWS

PARRAMATTA EELS

  • Parramatta Eels suffered a humiliating loss on the road last week as they were hammered by Canberra Raiders and it will take a big effort to avoid a third successive loss.
  • The Eels were downed 41-8 in that contest, despite only trailing 13-0 at the break and that second half effort will be hugely concerning with head coach Brad Arthur swinging the axe on the back of that performance which has seen Daejaran Asi given a crack at five-eighth.

Starting 13: 1. Clinton Gutherson 2. Bailey Simonsson 3. Viliami Penisini 4. Morgan Harper 5. Sean Russell 6. Daejarn Asi 7. Dylan Brown 8. Reagan Campbell-Gillard 9. Joey Lussick 10. Junior Paulo 11. Shaun Lane 12. Bryce Cartwright 13. J'maine Hopgood Bench: 14. Luca Moretti 15. Ryan Matterson 16. Joe Ofahengaue 17. Kelma Tuilagi Reserves: 18. Ofahiki Ogden 19. Blaize Talagi 20. NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS

  • North Queensland Cowboys made an immediate return to winning ways as they bounced back from their first loss of the season by getting the better of Gold Coast Titans.
  • The Cowboys produced a good response to their loss to Brisbane Broncos but that win came at a terrible cost with centre Zac Laybutt suffering a season-ending ACL injury.

Starting 13: 1. Scott Drinkwater 2. Kyle Feldt 3. Valentine Holmes 4. Tomas Chester 5. Murray Taulagi 6. Tom Dearden 7. Chad Townsend 8. Jordan McLean 9. Reece Robson 10. Jason Taumalolo 11. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki 12. Jeremiah Nanai 13. Reuben Cotter Bench: 14. Jake Granville 15. Griffin Neame 16. Sam McIntyre 17. Jack Gosiewski Reserves: 18. Jake Clifford 19. Thomas Mikaele 20. THE PREDICTION

Parramatta Eels were woeful last week as they succumbed to a heavy loss at the hands of Canberra Raiders. A big response will be expected here and they have made several changes to their side in an effort to garner a better effort but the absence of Mitchell Moses could well be costly again. North Queensland Cowboys have lost just one game so far this season and that record makes them difficult to ignore here.

TIP: NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS TO WIN
