THE TEAM NEWS

DOLPHINS

  • The Dolphins saw their L-W sequence extend to seven matches as they fell short in their clash with Melbourne Storm and now have to deal with a couple of key absentees.
  • This is the first time that State of Origin will impact the Dolphins and it will be intriguing to see how they cope without Tom Gilbert and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow while Felise Kaufusi is also banned.

ST. GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

  • St. George Illawarra Dragons secured a miraculous victory over Sydney Roosters last week, scoring with the final play of the game to land an unlikely win.
  • The Dragons were really game under the stewardship of interim coach Ryan Carr but will now have to back that effort up without talisman Ben Hunt as he is away with Queensland.

Starting 13: Sloan, Mat. Feagai, Suli, Lomax, Ravalawa, Amone, Sullivan, F. Molo, Liddle, M. Molo, Bird, Murdoch-Masila, De Belin – Interchanges: Mbye, Couchman, J. Hunt, Kerr – Reserves: Burns, Max Feagai, Musgrove, Fifita, Turner

THE PREDICTION

The Dolphins and St. George Illawarra Dragons get round 13 underway in what is an interesting matchup. The hosts have struggled for consistency for a while and will be desperate to put a winning run together. On the other hand, the Dragons ended a six-game losing streak as they prevailed in dramatic fashion against Sydney Roosters. Both can lay claim to taking the spoils here but the absence of Ben Hunt could be pivotal and while the Dolphins are also missing some key men, they look better equipped to deal with it and are expected to shade this one.
