New Zealand vs Canada prediction

Reigning champions New Zealand continued their pursuit of a Women’s Rugby World Cup threepeat by seeing off fellow Southern Hemisphere side South Africa in last weekend’s quarter-final.

The six-time winners made a slow start against the Springbok Women but made their superiority tell in the second period, ultimately winning 46-17 in Exeter.

Canada also posted 46 points – conceding just five – in their quarter-final triumph over Australia in Bristol. Kevin Rouet’s side ran in seven tries in a dominant display that will surely have the Black Ferns concerned.

This is a clash between two of the most fluent attacking sides in the tournament. Canada have reached the final once before – in 2014 – but this is considered the best side they have ever assembled.

Ranked second in the world, one place above their opponents, they will firmly believe they can navigate their way past the Black Ferns, but the Women’s World Cup often brings the best out of New Zealand and we’re backing them to edge a potential classic.
