Both of these two clubs are in excellent spaces right now. Momentum is high among both squads and most notably has been the attacking potency of each side. Melbourne Victory have recorded consecutive 4-1 victories at home, whilst Wellington Phoenix defeated Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar most recently.
Despite neither wanting to undo their good work with a loss, don’t expect the Victory and Wellington to play more conservatively here. The quality of both offensively cannot be ignored and a high-scoring encounter should be on the cards. Backing over 2.5 goals to be scored looks a sensible move.
