Matteo Berrettini vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction

Matteo Berrettini came through his opening match against Christopher O’Connell on Friday winning 6-2 7-6. The 28th-seed was solid without being spectacular but now he faces Stefanos Tsitsipas who he knows only too well that he will have to raise his game against.

The pair have met five times before and as recently as Dubai last week. It was Tsitsipas who won that match 7-6 1-6 6-4 en route to winning the title and it is the Greek star who has won four of the five previous encounters.

Tsitsipas will look to keep the momentum from Dubai and he looked good in his opening match also as he eased past Thiago Seyboth Wild 6-2 6-4. The eighth seed is looking to closer and closer to his best and that win in Dubai has clearly boosted his self-confidence which has been lacking at times.

The odds suggest this match is a pick’em with nothing separating the two players and it is easy to see why. That being said, we like the momentum that Tsitsipas has right now along with the head-to-head record and he gets our vote here.
