Magda Linette vs Bernarda Pera prediction
Magda Linette looked to have created some momentum ahead of Roland Garros with a run to the quarter-finals in Strasbourg. However, her hopes were quickly extinguished in Paris as she fell to a first-round defeat at the hands of Clara Tauson. Linette has made three quarter-finals this season but has failed to get past that stage in any of them.
Bernarda Pera had a more encouraging run in the second Grand Slam of the year as she made it to the third-round with wins over Caroline Garcia and 18th seed Donna Vekic. She would lose out in a close match with Elina Sviotlina but this was a step in the right direction for Pera as she prepares for the grass court season.
They have only played once before and that took place nearly seven years ago, in the first qualifying stage of Cincinnati with Pera winning in three sets. This is a difficult one to call but Pera is heading into this one in better form and we’re backing her to cause something of an upset.
