Comfortably the two best players in the world, the ‘two Lukes’ go into the 2025-26 PDC World Darts Championship each hoping to add to their one world title.

Ahead of the sport’s showpiece event at Alexandra Palace, we take look at all their previous TV finals on the PDC circuit, with their rivalry shaping the sport over the past couple of years.

Humphries 7-4 Littler (2024 PDC Word Darts Championship final)

Luke Littler burst onto the scene at the 2023-24 Word Championship, making it all the way to the final as a 16-year-old before losing to then world number one Humphries.

Littler was 4-2 up at one stage, but Humphries raised his game when it mattered most to hold off the young challenger, eventually securing the world title with a 7-4 victory at Ally Pally.

Littler 11-7 Humphries (2024 Premier League final)

In the immediate aftermath of that fairytale run, Littler was selected for the following year’s Premier League. He duly topped the table and made it through the playoffs to face Humphries once again in the final, where he hit a sensational nine-darter on his way to an 11-7 victory in London.

Humphries 11-7 Littler (2024 Players Championship Finals final)

Humphries wasn’t about to roll over for Littler though, and bounced back in the climax of the Players Championship Finals in November, averaging 103.69 on his way to an 11-7 triumph over his younger namesake.

Humphries 11-8 Littler (2025 Premier League final)

The pair once again locked horns in the following year’s Premier League final, and it was Humphries who came out on top this time. ‘Cool Hand’ defied ten maximums from Littler in a see-saw battle, eventually securing his first Premier League title with an 11-8 win.

Littler 8-4 Humphries (2025 New Zealand Darts Masters final)

The pair were at it again in Auckland where they duked it out for the New Zealand Darts Masters title. Littler was simply irresistible in the back-end of this event; after averaging just shy of 109 in his semi-final success over Gerwyn Price, ‘the Nuke’ posted a three-figure average of 115.02 in his 8-4 victory over Humphries in the final. To date, that remains the highest average in a World Series final.

Littler 6-1 Humphries (2025 World Grand Prix final)

The double-start event in Leicester featured another final between the two Lukes, and this one turned out to be the most one-sided. Narrowly missing out on another nine-darter – an even tougher challenger given the format – Littler romped to a 6-1 win as he continued to hunt down Humphries in the world rankings.

Littler 16-11 Humphries (2025 Grand Slam of Darts final)

Just over a month later, Littler finally usurped Humphries at the top of the world rankings on his way to yet another meeting with his great rival. Champion in Wolverhampton from the previous year, Littler successfully defended his title and made it three televised final victories in a row against Humphries, the score 16-11 in his favour.

Overall, Littler leads 4-3 in televised finals, and has won three of the four they have shared in 2025.

Other meetings

Of course, they have the shared the stage on many other occasions, be it in the regular season of the Premier League, European Tour events, Players Championship floor events or simply in pre-final rounds. Overall, the head-to-head score reads 16-10 in favour of Luke Littler, who also is also 8-4 ahead when it comes to all their 2025 matches.

Will the pair meet again at Alexandra Palace this time around? Few would bet against it!
