Latvia were a team that never gave up in 2025, fighting till the end on every occasion and coming away with a quarter-final finish as a result. Their most memorable result was a shootout win against Canada in their opening group stage match, which underlined the tenacious, battling nature of their team. Whilst they failed to win a group game across three regular periods of play, they earned plenty of plaudits, especially after pushing Sweden all the way in the last eight, losing 3-2.

The biggest worry for Canada here is the turnaround between fixtures.
