Laslo Djere has come through three rounds to reach this stage as the Serb 29-year-old came through qualifying over the weekend.
In the first round, Djere beat Alexandre Muller 6-3 6-3 and that was the third straight-sets win in three matches so he comes into this in good form and well adapted to the surface.
Alejandro Tabilo has been below par so far in 2025 compared to the heights and levels he reached last year. The 27-year-old Chilean has been eliminated in his first match in all three tournaments this year so far so he will be looking to halt this poor run.
After the best year of his career so far in 2024, he will be hoping to get back on track and the return to South America and clay will likely benefit him.
Tabilo will be boosted by the knowledge that he beat Djere in their only previous meeting and that was a five-set thriller at Wimbledon back in 2022.
