Ireland form: Back on track

After a below-par start to their Six Nations campaign, Ireland burst into life two weeks ago with a ruthless 42-21 victory over England at Allianz Stadium.

Their biggest ever away victory England, Ireland retain slim hopes of winning the Six Nations this year, although they will need other results to go their way if that is to be the case.

Wales form: Another agonising defeat

Wales were much-improved against Scotland two weeks ago but ultimately chalked up another defeat in front of a devastated Principality Stadium.

Despite at one stage leading 20-5, Steve Tandy's side could not hold off a stirring Scottish comeback in the second half, with the score eventually coming out at 26-23 in the visitors' favour.

Ireland vs Wales prediction

Ireland's victory over England a fortnight ago has given them renewed hope, and if the Six Nations title is just out of their reach, they can certainly claim the Triple Crown for the second year in a row. Beating Wales would take them two thirds on the way to that goal.

Wales are aiming to avoid losing a 15th straight Six Nations match, but the odds are very much stacked against them at the Aviva Stadium. They are simply second best to Ireland in all facets of the game, and their best hope of a victory in the competition will surely come at home to Italy oin the final set of fixtures next week.

The hosts are likely to rack up the points in Dublin in what promises to be a convincing win for Andy Farrell's side
