THE PREDICTION

Atletico have certainly not been as strong this season as they have in previous years and they know that they may lose the chance to reach the round of 16 should they not pick up three points here. Given that they have vastly improved lately though, they will be carrying a degree of confidence into this contest. Diego Simeone’s men have gone five games unbeaten in all competitions and will be determined to exact revenge on a Bayer Leverkusen side that beat them 2-0 in Germany last month. The Bundesliga outfit have been in a slump of late having conceded 11 goals in their last three games, so a home win looks very much on the cards.
