Throughout last season, Getafe struggled against the drop and they eventually moved to replace manager Quique Sanchez Flores with their former coach, Jose Bordalas, who was in charge of the Madrid-based club as they reached the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League a few years ago. That has meant a return to their aggressive and rugged tactics.
In their opening nine matches of the 2023/24 La Liga campaign, Getafe have managed just two victories with a fairly reactive style of football finding it difficult to take the initiative in matches. The hosts of this one will seek to be combative against a Real Betis side that have struggled to deal physically, as is the case with several injury concerns for this weekend’s encounter.
