The Pozzo family has been in charge of Udinese for well over 30 years now but supporters of the north east club are growing impatient with their general stagnation. Since a six-match winning streak early last year, Udinese have won just five of their subsequent 38 Serie A matches but Andrea Sottil remains in charge of the Friulians.
Prior to the international break, they were held to a goalless draw with Empoli which means they have started the 2023/24 Serie A season without a victory in their opening eight matches, drawing five and suffering three defeats. In those eight games, they have managed to score just four goals, following the sale of Beto to Everton during the summer transfer window.
LECCE
Lecce gained promotion to the top-flight of Italian football in 2022 and ended up comfortably surviving in Serie A, under the management of Marco Baroni. However, the impressive and enterprising Baroni was pinched by Hellas Verona in the summer, replaced by former Benevento coach, Roberto D’Aversa.
Lecce have, though, remained an impressive unit so far, albeit their form had begun to dip before the October international break. They come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Sassuolo in their most recent outing, a couple of weeks ago, meaning that they have managed just one win in their last five matches.

The home team are one of the worst sides in Italian football at the moment and have been for about 12 months. Udinese are in a battle against the drop with a lack of creativity and general incision which makes them fairly easy to pick off. Lecce will head to the northeast knowing that they can inflict some damage on their opponents but, given their own poor recent form, a fairly frustrating match should be in store with neither team capable of taking the initiative.
