THE TEAM NEWS

DARMSTADT

Darmstadt fans and head coach Torsten Lieberknecht all face an anxious wait regarding the availability of three players for the visit of RB Leipzig, all of whom are injury doubts. Emir Karic, Braydon Manu and Clemens Riedel are the players in question and a late decision is likely to be made on all three of them.

PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Schuhen; Klarer, Gjasula, Maglica; Bader, Kempe, Holland, Mehlem, Nurnberger; Pfeiffer, Skarke

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Karic (Injured), Manu (Injured), Riedel (Injured)

RB LEIPZIG

RB Leipzig could be afforded a huge boost by the potential availability of Dani Olmo, the Spanish attacking midfielder who started the season so well, scoring goals regularly for ‘Die Roten Bullen’ but hasn’t featured since getting injured playing for Spain during the last international break. Captain Willi Orban remains out though.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Blaswich; Henrichs, Simakan, Castello, Raum; Schlager, Kampl; Forsberg, Poulsen, Simons; Openda

UNAVAILABLE: Bitshiabu (Injured), Orban (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Olmo (Fitness)

THE PREDICTION

Darmstadt came into the international break on a huge high after having secured back-to-back Bundesliga triumphs. You could argue though that the break came at a bad time for them as a result, especially with RB Leipzig their next opponents. Marco Rose’s side are a formidable outfit, unbeaten since the opening weekend of the season and with plenty of quality both in terms of their starting line-up and strength-in-depth on the bench. Expect them to comfortably overcome a defensively dodgy Darmstadt.

TIP: RB LEIPZIG TO WIN
