THE LOWDOWN
TOULOUSE
Balancing UEFA Europa League football against domestic commitments was a major issue for Toulouse with a small-ish squad having to deal with European qualification perhaps too early for what they would have planned after winning the 2023 Coupe de France a year after gaining promotion to the top-flight in 2022.
Since their elimination from that competition at the hands of Benfica in the knockout playoff round in February, Toulouse have been much-improved and they continued that with a 2-1 victory over Rennes last weekend, coming from behind to mean they have now collected seven points in their last three matches.
MARSEILLE
In February, Olympique de Marseille took the decision to part company with Gennaro Gattuso, who had replaced Marcelino earlier in the campaign, and replaced him with former Ivory Coast boss Jean-Louis Gasset. Since then the southerners have been much-improved and they come into this on the back of another famous European night.
After sharing an entertaining 2-2 aggregate draw against Benfica in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League in midweek, Marseille then edged past the Portuguese giants on penalties. They had suffered four successive defeats across all competitions before that victory after a slow start to the Jean-Louis Gasset reign.
THE TEAM NEWS

MARSEILLE
Both Samuel Gigot and Amine Harit are out suspended for this weekend with the likes of Jonathan Clauss and Ismaila Sarr among those sidelined through injury.

THE PREDICTION
This one has the potential to be quite an entertaining encounter this weekend. Toulouse have been much-improved of late and they will likely come into this one on the front foot with their home advantage against a Marseille side that could be fatigued after a long and dramatic night against Benfica. Marseille began the Gasset reign by scoring 18 goals in five matches and are also a progressive and proactive side. Both teams scoring looks a good bet for this one.
