Under the management of former Borussia Monchengladbach boss Adi Hutter, Monaco have enjoyed an impressive opening few months to the 2023/24 Ligue 1 campaign but have fallen out of the title race early on with a 5-2 defeat away to Paris Saint-Germain last weekend making it just one win in their last four matches.
The Monagasque, playing with the classic Hutter style of football of intensity and pressure, have been very entertaining to watch so far this season. Their 13 matches have consisted of 46 goals with only PSG scoring more than the 27 they have notched and only four teams conceding more than 19 so far.
MONTPELLIER
Montpellier Herault come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Clermont in midweek, which was a rearranged game following that match originally being abandoned last month with Montpellier leading by four goals to two. That frustrating outcome will only heap the pressure on Armenian coach, Michel Der Zakarian.
The visitors begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the bottom-half of the table with just three victories in their opening 13 matches of the 2023/24 Ligue 1 campaign. That means they sit just two points ahead of Lorient, who are third from bottom and currently occupy the relegation/promotion playoff place.

Given that, Monaco are the favourites for this one but an entertaining and high-scoring encounter is also quite likely.
