THE LOWDOWN

LIVERPOOL

  • Liverpool answered their early-season critics in emphatic fashion on Saturday by thrashing Bournemouth 9-0 – a joint Premier League record – and they will look to kick on now and move up the table.
  • Jurgen Klopp’s injury woes are starting to ease with Joel Matip and Curtis Jones now back in full training, although the Liverpool manager may play it cautious and hand them bench roles for now.

NEWCASTLE

  • In-form Allan Saint-Maximin's stunning volley rescued a point for Newcastle at Wolves on Sunday with Eddie Howe’s men still unbeaten in the Premier League this season.
  • Howe has a few injury concerns here with doubts over Bruno Guimaraes and the aforementioned Saint-Maximin, while Alexander Isak’s availability is still unclear as the club awaits international clearance for their new striker.

THE PREDICTION

Liverpool truly clicked into gear in their demolition job of Bournemouth over the weekend, and although Newcastle will no doubt provide much sterner opposition than the Cherries, the hosts will be feeling much better about themselves after that performance. The visitors are troubled with injury concerns to some key attacking players here, which will blunt their attack, and they will struggle to contain a Liverpool side hungry for more goals. Mohamed Salah will be particularly keen to get on the scoresheet given that he rather surprisingly failed to do so against Bournemouth, and the motivated Egyptian is worth looking at in the anytime goalscorer market.

TIP: MOHAMED SALAH TO SCORE ANYTIME
