THE LOWDOWN

LEEDS UTD

  • With the pressure mounting on Jesse Marsch following a run of eight league games without a win, Leeds produced their best performance of the season with a dramatic late win over Liverpool significantly raising morale.
  • Luis Sinisterra’s injury is more severe than first feared and the Colombian will be out until after the World Cup at the very least, while Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw are improving but not yet ready for a return.

BOURNEMOUTH

  • Things were looking up for Bournemouth last week when a Kieffer Moore double put them two goals to the good against Tottenham, but the Cherries ultimately fell to a second-half comeback by their opponents, and that is now three straight defeats for the promoted side.
  • There are no fresh injuries to report and Gary O’Neil may well opt for an unchanged line-up given the fact his team did perform well for large portions of the match with Spurs.

THE PREDICTION

Things were looking bleak for Jesse Marsch’s job prospects until Leeds’ shock win at Anfield last weekend, and that result is bound to have given them a huge lift as they prepare to welcome promoted side Bournemouth to Elland Road. The Cherries, meanwhile, may have lost three on the bounce but they can count themselves somewhat unlucky that they lost against Spurs last weekend in what was an otherwise encouraging performance. Both teams will be up for this one and will view it as a winnable fixture, but it could very well be honours even with a draw the predicted outcome.

TIP: DRAW
