THE LOWDOWN

EVERTON

  • Under the management of Sean Dyche, Everton have become more organised and competent, picking up points at a rate that should see them comfortably survive relegation this season.
  • Dyche has said that Dominic Calvert-Lewin has returned to some training but hasn’t resumed full training ahead of Monday’s game with Tottenham.

TOTTENHAM

  • The international break was a tumultuous one for Spurs with Antonio Conte’s rant then sacking combined with the suspension of Fabio Paratici. The visitors do remain in the top four, though, ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures.
  • Hugo Lloris has returned to training, whilst Ivan Perisic appears fine after an injury sustained for Croatia in the week. However, Emerson Royal, Ben Davies, Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon and Richarlison are all unavailable for this one.

THE TEAM NEWS

EVERTON

PREDICTED XI (4-5-1): Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Iwobi, Doucoure, Gueye, Onana, McNeil; Gray

UNAVAILABLE: Townsend (Injured), Calvert-Lewin (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Patterson (Fitness)

TOTTENHAM

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Lloris; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Porro, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Perisic; Kulusevski, Son; Kane

UNAVAILABLE: Emerson (Injured), Bissouma (Injured), Bentancur (Injured), Richarlison (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Davies (Injured), Sessegnon (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Sean Dyche’s Everton have been impressive, particularly defensively, since he arrived. The Toffees have been strong at the back throughout the campaign, in fairness, with just 40 goals conceded in 28 games - the same amount as top four Tottenham. The visitors have suffered from a disjointed and stodgy style of football that has led to the eventual parting of ways with Antonio Conte. Going to an improved and aggressive Everton at Goodison is unlikely to unlock their free-flowing ways. The hosts will be confident but under 2.5 goals, regardless of the match result, seems likely.

TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
