THE LOWDOWN

EVERTON

  • A come-from-behind 1-2 victory at Southampton last weekend handed Everton their second successive Premier League victory and the Toffees are now unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions.
  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still working on his fitness but he could at least make the bench for this fixture, while Anthony Gordon is poised to return to the starting line-up in place of Dwight McNeil.

MAN UTD

  • After four Premier League wins on the bounce, Man Utd were handed a reality check last weekend when they were taken apart by city rivals Man City, and in truth the 6-3 scoreline probably flattered Erik ten Hag’s men.
  • Harry Maguire misses out with injury again here alongside Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but Ten Hag is hopeful of Varane’s involvement while the manager has said he will be cautious over Anthony Martial’s minutes despite a return to the team recently.

THE TEAM NEWS

EVERTON

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Pickford; Coleman, Coady, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Onana, Gueye, Iwobi; Gray, Maupay, Gordon

UNAVAILABLE: Godfrey (Injured), Mina (Fitness), Holgate (Fitness), Patterson (Injured), Townsend (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Calvert-Lewin (Fitness)

MAN UTD

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia; McTominay, Eriksen; Antony, Bruno Fernandes, Sancho; Rashford

UNAVAILABLE: Maguire (Injured), Wan-Bissaka (Injured), Williams (Injured), Van de Beek (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Varane (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

It has gone somewhat under the radar that Everton boast the best defensive record in the Premier League at the moment and Frank Lampard should certainly be praised for how he has managed to tighten up what was a leaky backline. That resolve will certainly be put under the test here though, as Man Utd – despite last weekend’s bruising loss to Man City – have scored six goals in their last two games and certainly aren’t lacking options in attack. Marcus Rashford has been showing glimpses of his old self of late, while Antony appears to be settling in well to life at his new club, so backing the visitors in the draw no bet market could be worth a look.

TIP: MAN UTD DRAW NO BET
