THE LOWDOWN

BRENTFORD

  • An Ivan Toney-inspired Brentford defeated Leeds 5-2 in the last round of Premier League fixtures with Thomas Frank’s men ticking along nicely in the top half of the table right now.
  • There are no fresh injuries to report in the Brentford treatment room but Sergi Canos has a chance of being included after returning to training.

ARSENAL

  • Arsenal’s 100% record in the Premier League finally came to an end with defeat to Man Utd last time out, and Mikel Arteta will be determined to see his men bounce back here as we head into the international break.
  • Oleksandr Zinchenko misses out through injury and it has been revealed that Emile Smith-Rowe’s limited participation this season has been due to an ongoing injury issue, while Thomas Partey could be involved here after making good progress in his recovery.

ARSENAL

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Lokonga, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Jesus

THE PREDICTION

How Arsenal bounce back here after their defeat to Man Utd in their last Premier League outing will say a lot about their prospects this season, as Mikel Arteta will be determined to see his side return to the form that saw them win their opening five games in the league. They certainly have the talent to do that, but Brentford represent a real banana skin for any opponent right now, with striker Ivan Toney enjoying a rich vein of form at the minute. The Gunners could be vulnerable to that, but can be deadly themselves, so both teams scoring looks likely.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
