THE PREDICTION
Gent were able to bounce back from their streak-ending 4-3 defeat at Mechelen with a 2-1 victory at home to Gent on Saturday. They are certainly the more predictable of the two sides in this Belgian Cup quarter-final, with travelling Standard Liege enduring problems on and off the pitch this season as their poor, erratic form continues. They beat Antwerp 2-3 last weekend but lost away at OH Leuven on Sunday, with Gent’s four-match winning streak at home a decent stat to get behind. This feels like the riskiest match of the four quarter-finals, though, so taking it to see over 2.5 goals could be a decent alternative considering a 3-1 win for Gent here late last month, part of the four of Standard Liege’s last five matches to see at least three goals.
