FPL Gameweek 9 – head-to-head comparisons: Allan Saint-Maximim vs Tomas Soucek

Newcastle's Allan Saint-Maximin (£5.3m) has disappointed his FPL owners having now gone three gameweeks without an attacking return, the latest being Gameweek 8 where Newcastle fell to a 2-0 defeat away to Southampton. After threatening for numerous gameweeks, West Ham's Tomas Soucek (£4.9m) finally opened his account for the season, scoring the winner late on for the Hammers against Fulham.

Soucek will hope to build on that goal in Gameweek 9 as his side takes on Sheffield Utd. Newcastle host Chelsea in what looks like a tough game for Saint-Maximin with the Blues having conceded just one goal in their last three league matches. With Soucek given license make late runs into the penalty area, utilising his aerial ability, along with his £0.4m cheaper pricetag, we're plumping for him over Saint-Maximin in Gameweek 9.
