Diane Parry vs Robin Montgomery prediction

France’s Diane Parry will be hoping to do well on home soil as she returns to Roland Garros. The 22-year-old has got through the first round in each of the last three editions at the French Open and she will be hoping to continue that in 2025.

Parry has had a good run on clay in recent weeks getting plenty of game time on her favourite surface but she has not quite been hitting the heights that she has in previous years. She will view this as a golden opportunity to get some form and momentum going and she can lean on some big wins here in previous years for confidence and motivation.

She meets American Robin Montgomery who is making her debut at Roland Garros in the main draw. She took part in the qualifiers in the last two years but she will now be hoping to make her mark in the main draw.

That will not be easy however on clay and she is not helped by the fact that she has not played for a month leading into this tournament.

Parry has the edge in activity and the surface will certainly favour her. We expect her to get the win and progress to the second round once again.
