Louis Jourdain: Can Charles Jourdain's sibling join his brother in the UFC ranks?

The younger brother of UFC bantamweight Charles Jourdain, Louis Jourdain (8-3) arrives on the Contender Series in the hopes of joining his brother in the UFC's 135 pound weight class. An aggressive high output striker, Jourdain has a solid kicking game and also throws vicious knees up the middle. While he was submitted twice during the early goings of his career, "Mad Prince" is currently on a three fight win streak, scoring nasty KOs in all three of those appearances. He's also dabbled in professional boxing, posting a 3-1 record between 2019 and 2022.

Magno Dias: The Fighting Nerds alum looks to bring "The Violence" and score his shot at the UFC

Looking to become the latest Fighting Nerd to make a splash in the UFC, Magno Dias (6-1) arrives on the Contender Series off the back of a monstrous first round KO over Alessandro Albuquerque on the regional circuit. "The Violence" has a 100% finish rate and has only seen a third round once in his professional career. Having been submitted via guillotine choke in his fourth fight, there is a route to beat Dias, but he's usually so aggressive that it's only happened on one occasion to date.

Louis Jourdain vs Magno Dias prediction

Jourdain is arguably the better striker on paper here. Much like his brother Charles, the Canadian throws everything with excellent technique, and he's also the bigger, longer man here. He's got a lot of momentum coming off three knockout wins and he could very well overwhelm "The Violence" with his power and volume.

With that being said, Dias has never been knocked out in his career to date. In addition to the knockout threat that he poses on the feet, he's also got a nasty submission game, an area of MMA that has historically proved to be the chink in Jourdain's armor. Losing by submission to a 1-1 opponent when he was 3-0 is a minor red flag, but he seems to have learnt the lessons from that early setback.

This one could legitimately go either way. In any case, whoever does get their hand raised, this bantamweight showdown is likely to be an absolute war while it lasts.

Prediction: Fight will not go the distance
