Christopher Alvidrez: The American KO artist looking to make a splash in front of the boss
With five first round finishes in seven fights, Christopher Alvidrez (6-1) does not seem like the sort of prospect who likes leaving things to the judges. The American clearly has power in his fists, with four brutal knockouts to prove it. Alvidrez has also fought in Karate Combat, winning his bout in the promotion by unanimous decision. He's been perfect in his professional career since dropping a unanimous decision to Gabriel Mazetti in what was just his second fight.
Eliezer Kubanza: Physical powerhouse Kubanza looks to score his seventh professional knockout
Putting his perfect record on the line in hopes of a UFC contract, Eliezer Kubanza (7-0) is a terrifying looking prospect. A crisp and technical striker, the ultra athletic Kubanaza looks to be seriously powerful, a state of affairs evidenced by scoring a head kick stoppage where his opponent managed to mostly block the strike and still got knocked out. "King Kong" has only seen the judges scorecards in his undefeated career, going the distance for the first time last time out after reeling off six scary KOs in succession.
Christopher Alvidrez vs Eliezer Kubanza prediction
While Alvidrez looks to be extremely dangerous, Kubanza has the look of a UFC ready fighter.
This contest is likely to be primarily contested on the feet, and while Alvidrez clearly hits hard, he doesn't seem to carry the same type of knock-you-dead power that Kubanza possesses. Moreover, coming from Brave FC, "King Kong" has also arguably beaten much better levels of competition in his career to date.
Kubanza has also proved himself capable of gritting out a decision when he can't find a finish against a solid fighter in Zagid Gaidarov. By contrast, Alvidrez's sole decision victory came against an 0-0 fighter, raising questions as to how he'll handle matters if he isn't able to score the early KO. With that being said, considering the clash of styles on offer here, a decision seems unlikely.
Kubanza looks to be the safe bet to win a firefight on paper here, but whatever the outcome, the judges won't be needed for this one.
Prediction: Fight will not go the distance
