Anthony Wint: The former NFL linebacker looking to touch down in the UFC
Former NFL linebacker, Anthony Went (6-0) has taken to MMA like a duck to water, reeling off five brutal finishes in six wins. Training out of Kill Cliff FC, the undefeated prospect fights like his opponents owe him money, leveraging his outrageous athleticism and background in American football to tackle them to the ground and brutalize them with GNP. While “Bow Down” is so aggressive on the feet that he leaves openings to be countered, Wint’s power means that he’s bombed most of his opponents out cold before they’re able to take advantage. His last fight saw him earn the Fury FC heavyweight strap with a thunderous 37 second KO.
Matt Adams: The American brawler aiming to defy the odds
LFA alum, Matthew Adams (6-2) makes his Contender Series debut as a considerable underdog. Primarily a striker, the 28 year old American has dabbled in bare-knuckle boxing in addition to his MMA career. He’s earned all but one of his professional victories by way of stoppage, although it’s worth noting that he’s been finished himself in both of his losses to date. While “Bad” has a stocky build, he’s also arguably undersized for the weight class at 5’10; this is a division containing the likes of Alexander Volkov, after all.

With the greatest of respect, this looks like a complete mismatch.
Adams is a mid-level regional heavyweight, at best. He’s been finished in both of his professional losses to date, and was also KO’d twice in his amateur career; “Bad” was even stopped in his sole foray into bare knuckle boxing. He’s also just one fight removed from a first round submission loss on the local circuit, with his sole win since coming over a fighter who was 1-6.
On the other side of the cage, Wint is an athletic powerhouse with a propensity for brutal finishes. He’s arguably a small heavyweight at 6’0” but he still has a size advantage here. He trains out of an elite gym in Kill Cliff FC, can finish the fight anywhere it takes place, and has all the confidence and momentum that comes as an undefeated fighter and life long elite athlete.
Wint probably isn’t even going to have to use his wrestling here. “Bow Down” is going to march forward and land bombs at will, secure in the knowledge that even if Adams doesn’t go down from his strikes, he can simply take him down and either smash him into the canvas or work a submission. Personally, I don’t think it’s even going to get that far.
