- Sydney Thunder could have a new superstar in their ranks as 16-year-old Phoebe Litchfield picked up the player of the match award for a superb performance that helped her side to victory over reigning champions Brisbane Heat.
- Chasing 151 for the win thanks to a solid effort from Samantha Bates who took three wickets, the Thunder looked to be struggling having lost their first three wickets in a 14-ball period with Litchfield coming to the crease to join Alex Blackwell.
- The blend of youth and experience worked a treat for the Thunder as the pair put on an unbeaten stand of 97 as they chased down their total with seven balls remaining to collect their first win of the tournament.
MELBOURNE RENEGADES WOMEN
- Melbourne Renegades made it back-to-back wins as they edged out Perth Scorchers and will look to build on their strong start but will need to overcome a team that they have only ever beaten once.
- Sydney Thunder have won the last six games against the Melbourne side and despite beating the Scorchers last time out, the Renegades will need to put in a better performance if they are to overturn their poor record against the Thunder.
- Danni Wyatt was again the best with the bat as she scored 31 to take her tally to 93 from her three games so far but Claire Koski may begin to come under pressure if she does not find form soon with a high score of just 13 so far.

Sydney Thunder will be looking to build on their superb win over Brisbane Heat and now face a side that they have dominated when facing them. The Thunder have defeated Melbourne Renegades in seven of their eight matches in the Women’s Big Bash League and will be confident of improving that record. All eyes will be on teenage sensation Phoebe Litchfield after her match-winning knock alongside Alex Blackwell against the Heat and her side can build on that win to make it consecutive victories.
