THE TEAM NEWS
INDIA
- India were far too good for the West Indies in their opening clash of the one-day international series and will look to build on that six-wicket success by producing another strong performance in this second clash.
- The Indians were able to bowl the Windies for 176 and with Rohit Sharma leading the reply with a score of 60, the hosts made light work of reaching their target as they claimed the win with a massive 22 overs to spare.
WEST INDIES
- West Indies were hugely disappointing as they meekly surrendered to India in the first game of the ODI series and they will have to make enormous improvements on that effort if they are to live with their opponents.
- The tourists struggled with both bat and ball as they were heavily beaten and it would have been even worse had Jason Holder not produced a knock of 57 to guide his side to a score of 176.
THE PREDICTION
India outclassed the West Indies in their ODI meeting at the weekend and the hosts will be confident of producing another strong showing to wrap the series up with a game to spare. There will have been plenty of soul-searching for the tourists on the back of their shambolic showing in which they offered very little resistance to the hosts. It will take a huge turnaround for the Windies to get anywhere near the Indians but it is unlikely to happen the hosts can cover the handicap to win by -5.5 wickets/-44.5 runs.
