Hampshire clung on in a thrilling run chase against Middlesex to secure their first victory in the Bob Willis Trophy last time out, with opener Joe Weatherley scoring 64 not out in a three-wicket win. Surrey continue to struggle with the absence of numerous first team players through injuries and England commitments. Defeat at Essex made it two losses from two for the ‘The Rey’ in the Bob Willis Trophy so far.
THE PREDICTION
Rain could have a say in this one, although a short delay shouldn’t prevent a result with both sides fairly frail with the bat anyway. Hampshire will be without Liam Dawson, with an achilles injury sustained against Middlesex ruling him out for the season. However, they will hope to have James Vince available and if so, his inclusion could be crucial. Either way, against such a vastly depleted Surrey side, Hampshire will be expected to win this one.
