HOBART HURRICANES

• Hobart Hurricanes avoided a third straight loss in the Big Bash League as they got the better of Brisbane Heat and that eight-wicket success leaves them in a solid position on the ladder with 20 points from ten games.
• They will be aiming for more consistency in their final four games as they bid to seal their spot in the knockout phase of the competition and with Ben McDermott returning to form with a knock of 93 last time out, he will be key once again to their chance in this one.

SYDNEY THUNDER

• Sydney Thunder continued their excellent run of form as they made it five successive victories in the BBL thanks to a hugely impressive demolition job on Melbourne Renegades in their most recent contest.
• The Thunder whacked 209/7 before skittling the Renegades for just 80 to claim a 129-run victory as they dealt superbly well with the loss of a couple of their key men to international duty and the manner of the win suggests there is more to come from the Sydney outfit.

THE PREDICTION

Hobart Hurricanes have shown that they can beat anyone on their day but it is consistency that they lack. They will need to produce a big performance if they are to earn their sixth win of the Big Bash League as they do battle with the in-form Sydney Thunder, a side going in search of a sixth straight victory. They have been superb of late and showed their quality in abundance by thrashing Melbourne Renegades. Their level of performance is extremely high at present and they have to be favoured to extend their excellent winning streak in this clash.
