Canada vs Germany prediction
Canada responded well to their 0-5 loss at the hands of old rivals USA, thrashing Finland by the same score. They finished second-place in Group A with three wins from four and 14 goals scored, third most of any team in the group stage with six conceded. They’ll be firm favourites against Germany and rightly so, their opponents also won three matches but were in an easier group and one of those victories came in overtime.
The reality is that Canada are a much better team and when it comes to knockout hockey, they tend to clutch up. None more so than Marie-Philip Poulin, who could return to the ice after being sidelined in Canada’s last two games through injury. Expect Poulin to have her say on proceedings if she features in this quarter-final in what should wind up a Canadian victory.
