Bournemouth preview: Unfortunate but now off the mark

Following the departure of Andoni Iraola and the appointment of Marco Rose, AFC Bournemouth have been left frustrated this season but did manage to hammer Lincoln City by four goals to nil in the third round of the EFL Cup in midweek.

In the Premier League, Bournemouth started with a 2-1 loss to Manchester City in a game that they led until late on before then conceding a late equaliser to Everton and again at Newcastle United, having been 2-0 up at St James’ Park.

Brentford preview: Energetic and buzzing Bees

Keith Andrews remains in charge of a very solid and very steady Brentford side that have again started the season reasonably well with five points collected from their opening three matches but they too may well be frustrated.

The Bees hammered Tottenham Hotspur by three goals to nil in their opener before they then conceded late equalisers to both Leeds United and Sunderland in back-to-back 1-1 draws in the last couple of weeks.

Scotland international midfielder Ryan Christie notched a hat-trick against Lincoln in midweek and he will fancy himself to perhaps now start ahead of Justin Kluivert in the so-called ‘number ten’ position.

Bournemouth still have a quartet of injury absentees as Veljko Milosavljevic remains sidelined alongside Julian Araujo, Amine Adli and Eli Junior Kroupi.

Brentford team news: Collins a doubt

Brentford captain Nathan Collins was forced off against Sunderland due to a calf strain and the Ireland international centre-back is now a major doubt for this weekend.

As well as Collins, fellow defender Sepp van den Berg remain sidelined for the visitors alongside midfield trio Antoni Milambo, Josh Dasilva and Mathias Jensen.

Brentford have wasted some glorious opportunities against Leeds and Sunderland to have joined Arsenal and Manchester City in setting the pace at the top of the Premier League table.
