Barbora Krejcikova vs Tatjana Maria prediction

Barbora Krejcikova returned to action last week in Strasbourg to play the first tennis of the year as she has been out of action due to a back problem. She lost that opening match to Magda Linette which was unsurprising but she will be hoping to get some more minutes under her belt and some wins at Roland Garros this week.

The world number 15 has been handed a relatively kind draw as she faces 37-year-old Tatjana Maria in the first round.

The German has not gone past the first round since 2017 and the third round is her best achievement in the tournament to date. It is hard to see her going far this week as she is clearly winding down in the twilight of her career these days.

While Krejcikova is likely to be far from her best, she should still have enough in her locker to overcome Maria in this one and it could well be in straight sets too.
