- Bangladesh got their World Cup campaign off to a fantastic start as they beat South Africa on Sunday by 21 runs as they batted first and compiled 330/6 and then successfully defended that total in impressive fashion at The Oval.
- The manner of their batting was especially pleasing in that game as each of the batsmen contributed and despite losing wickets at a steady pace, they never panicked and some late big hitting from Mahmudullah saw them set an imposing target that South Africa could not surpass.
- After that outstanding victory, the likelihood is that they will name an unchanged team as they look to spring another surprise, and Tamim Iqbal will have benefited from more rest to recover from his knock.
NEW ZEALAND

- New Zealand steamrollered Sri Lanka in their opening match on Saturday as their pace trio of Henry, Ferguson and Boult took seven wickets to skittle them out for just 136 inside 30 overs which they knocked off with relative ease in 16 overs themselves.
- They have no injury concerns coming into this game and that match did not overly stretch them so they will be raring to go against Bangladesh and they will look to pick up another two points before they face Afghanistan next up as they seek to get points on the board early.
- The form of openers Martin Guptill and Colin Munro in that match will have given them a major boost as it has been something of a weakness for them in recent times, but they are likely to be tested much more by Bangladesh.
THE PREDICTION
Bangladesh continued their recent good form on Sunday by beating South Africa and they will face another test against New Zealand but one they will not fear. The Blackcaps were outstanding against Sri Lanka and they will know that points on the board early in this tournament is key to them. Bangladesh will not be phased by the pace attack of New Zealand but their batsmen will have to be in top form yet again. This will be a sterner test that South Africa offered and the Blackcaps may just have enough all round to edge what should be a very close game.
