- Lucky loser Oscar Otte gave world number three Roger Federer much more of a game than anyone expected but to no avail as the Swiss won in straight sets (6-4, 6-3, 6-4).

THE PREDICTION
This match may well be the biggest of Casper Ruud’s young career, certainly the biggest payday, and he looks to be the kind of player that improves with an audience. Of course, he faces Roger Federer, so while the crowd may be appreciative of both players for the most part, the Swiss will always be favourite at the end. Ruud looks an excellent prospect, and could even steal a set here, but betting against Federer before the last eight is a fool’s errand.
