FIFA 19 eSports – News Round-Up

In our weekly round-up here at The Stats Zone, we look at the biggest talking points currently within the FIFA eSports scene. These may range from player transfers, online/offline tournament announcements, tournament results and more.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Last weekend saw the conclusion of two Scandinavian domestic leagues as the eAllsvenskan and Altibox eSerien finals came to a conclusion in Stockholm and Oslo respectively. In Sweden, it was Malmo FF and the trio of Davve, Zackey and xNinJa who won the eAllsvenskan after defeating Orebro SK in the grand final.

A day later saw Valerenga Fotball bring home the Norwegian title thanks to its duo of Hyper and Arko, both of whom ply their trade for Nordavind DNB.

After a long season of domestic French football, the overall eLigue 2018-19 champion was finally decided and it was no surprise as to who came out on top. Maestro has established himself as the top French player on FIFA 19, already securing major FIFA 19 titles such as the eNations Cup, and rammed that fact home in some style by clinching the French national FIFA title for Dijon FCO.

TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

With the Swedish and Norwegian domestic titles having been decided, DreamHack have announced the Nordic Masters which will take place at Dreamhack Summer on June 16th 2019. This FIFA 19 tournament will see both the champions and runners-up from the Swedish eAllsvenskan, the Norwegian Altibox eSerien and the Danish eSuperliga all come together and battle for the right to be crowned Nordic champions and the kings of Scandinavian FIFA!

The inaugural eChampions League finals will take place in Madrid this Friday, a day prior to the UEFA Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. It is set to be a fantastic occasion and one befitting of UEFA’s first plunge into the FIFA eSports scene. With no clear favourite to win, all eight finalists will believe they can make history in Spain.

ELSEWHERE

One of the eChampions League finalists has celebrated by signing with a new eSports organisation. xLevVinken has been a free agent for much of the season, but the Dutchman has now been signed up by Italian organisation MKers. Lev will be hoping to make the best possible start with his new employees by bringing home his first offline trophy of the FIFA 19 season.
