- Parramatta were shambolic as they produced a completion rate of just 68% as they lost for the first time in their new stadium when facing Penrith last week but have a big opportunity to return to winning ways against a weakened South Sydney side.
- The Eels avoided any injuries last week and will have Blake Ferguson available for selection after he was left out of the Blues squad but after a failed outing at centre last week, he will revert to the wing here with Michael Jennings taking the place of brother George.
- Tim Mannah, Daniel Alvaro and Brad Takairangi are also dropped after poor efforts last week with Kane Evans given a chance in the front row and Ray Stone comes onto the bench whilst Tepi Moeroa is back in the side after a concussion kept him out last week.

- South Sydney retained their spot at the top of the ladder as they swept aside Wests Tigers as they made it ten wins from 11 this season but face a massive task to maintain their winning run here.
- The Rabbitohs will have to do it tough this week as Dane Gagai, Cameron Murray, Damien Cook and Cody Walker all received Origin call-ups but Adam Reynolds could give them a huge boost after he was named in the 17 despite picking up an injury last week.
- South Sydney have also managed to add James Roberts to their ranks and he could be a late inclusion in the side after the centre arrived from Brisbane this week whilst Adam Doueihi will make his first appearance since suffering an ACL injury last season.
THE PREDICTION
Parramatta will be desperate to right the wrongs of last week's effort against Penrith and may get the chance against an under-strength South Sydney. The Rabbitohs have lost four players to Origin to severely weaken their side but Wayne Bennett’s men will still be hopeful of a result. Their strength in depth will be tested to the limit here with some key players missing but they still have enough talent to cause Parramatta problems and although the home side are the favourites, Souths can upset the odds to remain at the top of the NRL ladder.
