MIAMI DOLPHINS
- Miami gave Buffalo a game last week but their attempted onside kick was returned for a TD late in the game to sum up their season as the Dolphins remained winless and now face a tough trip to Pittsburgh in search of that elusive victory.
- The Dolphins lost rookie DL Christian Wilkins after just two plays in last week's game after he was ejected for throwing a punch and he will have some making up to do to his team in Week 8 following that indiscretion.
- Only two players sat out the full session at Thursday’s first practice of the week with S Reshad Jones and C Daniel Kilgore suffering with chest and knee injuries respectively while numerous others were limited.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
- Pittsburgh did not have a game in Week 7 and they will hope their bye does not halt their momentum after beating Los Angeles Chargers in what was a fairly dominant display on both sides of the ball.
- Steelers QB Mason Rudolph will be hoping to return under center in this game after clearing the NFL's concussion protocols and he was a full participant in Thursday’s practice which suggests he is trending towards playing.
- WR JuJu Smith-Schuster was the only non-participant in that practice session through illness but he should overcome that to suit up while T.J. Watt was only limited after picking up a problem with his abdomen.
THE PREDICTION
Pittsburgh could not have asked for a better game to return to action following their bye last week as they host winless Miami. The Dolphins showed signs of improvement last week but fell to 0-6 and facing a Steelers team who have freshened up could spell trouble. The hosts have been getting better as the season has progressed and providing the bye week does not hinder that, they should be able to claim a comfortable win here.
