Victory away at Wolfsburg would make it 12 points from a possible 12 for RB Leipzig since their 6-0 thrashing on opening night.

Wolfsburg preview: Stuck in midtable

Wolfsburg are sat in mid-table right now following a mixed bag of results to start the season. After winning their opening game by three goals to one away at Heidenheim, Wolfsburg have since not won a match, drawing against both Mainz and FC Cologne before losing narrowly by a goal to nil away at Borussia Dortmund.

None of their four league fixtures so far have seen Wolfsburg keep a clean sheet and something they can certainly work on moving forward, easing the pressure on their attack to keep them in games and pick up points.

RB Leipzig preview: Winning run continues

RB Leipzig are full of confidence heading into this latest encounter following recent results, which have seen them win all of their last three Bundesliga contests, whilst conceding only one goal along the way. The last of those victories was a 3-1 triumph against FC Cologne with all four goals having been scored in the first half.

Things look to be clicking together under Ole Werner but this represents a big test on the road. Assan Ouedraogo, Romulu Cardoso and David Raum were all on the scoresheet last weekend and will hope for similar success here.

Wolfsburg team news: No returns

Wolfsburg remain without Jesper Lindstron, Kevin Paredes, Rogerio and Denis Vavro, all of whom missed their side’s last match. Also missing this latest game is Skov Olsen, who is suffering from a knee injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Grabara; Fischer, Jens, Koulierakis, Maehle; Arnold, Vinicius; Daghim, Majer, Wimmer; Amoura

Unavailable: Lindstrom (Injured), Paredes (Injured), Rogerio (Injured), Skov Olsen (Injured), Vavro (Injured)

Questionable:

RB Leipzig team news: Series of doubts

A few RB Leipzig players will require late fitness tests before their availability for this match is determined. Finkgrafe, Klostermann and Nedeljkovic are all doubtful and it remains to be seen if they will feature here. Haidara, Henrichs and Schlager are all out.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Gulacsi; Baku, Orban, Lukeba, Raum; Ouedraogo, Seiwald, Kampl; Bakayoko, Romulo, Nusa

Unavailable: Haidara (Injured), Henrichs (Injured), Schlager (Injured)

Questionable: Finkgrafe (Injured), Klostermann (Injured), Nedeljkovic (Injured)

Wolfsburg vs RB Leipzig prediction

Two football clubs on different ends of the form scale are set to collide as RB Leipzig look to extend a winning streak and Wolfsburg aim to begin one. The hosts can score goals but are coming up against a tough defence with Leipzig having really stepped up in that department. Combine that with Wolfsburg’s struggles to shut out their opponents and it may not bode well for them.

Werner’s Leipzig have probably benefitted by not playing European football, being able to focus fully on their Bundesliga campaign and they’ve got all the tools to challenge the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. With momentum in their favour, back the visitors to get the better of Wolfsburg.
