Perennial UEFA Women's Champions League participants Wolfsburg earned direct passage into the league phase after finishing as runners up in the Frauen-Bundesliga last season. They are currently top of the league domestically, ahead of Bayern Munich on goals scored.

Beaten quarter-finalists last season, Wolfsburg have twice been crowned champions of Europe when they won back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014, while they have also reached the final on a further four occasions.

Last season was a disappointing one in Europe for Paris Saint-Germain as they failed to make it to the group stage after a run of reaching at least the quarter-finals for six straight seasons. The two-time runners up have begun their 2025-26 campaign in fairly indifferent form, with the low point a 6-1 defeat to rivals OL Lyonnes in the French domestic league just a couple of weeks ago.

These two sides are fairly evenly-matched on paper but Wolfsburg have made the brighter start to their domestic campaign and look to be playing with the greater confidence right now. A narrow home win could therefore be the outcome.
