Wolfsburg vs Juventus prediction

Wolfsburg were very much in contention for a top-four finish in the league phase, but defeats in their final two games cost them automatic passage to the quarter-finals.

The two-time winners have only contested two competitive fixtures, both in the Frauen-Bundesliga, since losing to 1-2 at home to Chelsea on Matchday 6, although they have won both of them. They are, however, nine points behind leaders Bayern Munich in their domestic standings.

Juventus also lost their final league phase encounter at home to English opposition, suffering a 0-1 defeat at the hands of Man Utd, but they finished one point better off than Wolfsburg in the table.

The Italian club, who have won their last three Serie A Femmenile fixtures without conceding, have already bettered their European showing from last year, when they exited at the group stage.

Although Juve have looked solid in domestic action lately, this is undoubtedly a step-up and they will go against a feared frontline with Alexandra Popp and Lineth Beerensteyn bound to cause them problems. This could be a tight affair between two fairly well-matched teams, but the extra star quality of the hosts tips this in theur favour.
