The Wolfsburgers come into this one on the back of backing up a 3-1 win against Union Berlin by easing to an impressive and comfortable 3-1 defeat of Borussia Monchengladbach at Borussia-Park last weekend.

Freiburg preview: Fatigued Freiburg

Freiburg qualified for the UEFA Europa League last season and that has led to a congested and jam-packed fixture schedule this season, which has seen a slight regression domestically but they remain one of the stronger sides in the Bundesliga.

Wolfsburg vs Freiburg prediction

Wolfsburg will head into the winter break with a lot of changes expected as they seek to push themselves up towards the top end of the table in the second-half of the campaign. As Freiburg perhaps begin to feel the pinch of their congested schedule, siding with an improved and in-form Wolfsburg, especially with their home advantage, may well be the way to go for this one.
