Wolfsburg vs Chelsea prediction

Despite losing 2-0 to Real Madrid in their last UEFA Women's Champions League fixture, Wolfsburg had already gained enough points in the league phase to ensure that they will continue their European journey into the new year.

The two-time winners could potentially still finish in the top four with a win here though, which would allow them to bypass the knockout phase play-offs straight into the quarter-finals.

Two points better off, Chelsea are in a stronger position in that respect having gone unbeaten in the league phase so far. Sonia Bompastor's side were 6-0 winners against Roma last week, and followed that with a 0-3 success at Brighton in the Women's Super League on Sunday.

This is the 11th competitive meeting between the two sides, although their first since December 2021. Chelsea are given the edge by the bookies, and while we concur with that assessment, we think there is value to be had in the goals markets. Wolfsburg have scored 11 goals in their two home games in the league phase, and are capable of troubling the visitors here.
