Wigan vs Northampton prediction

Former Preston North End boss Ryan Lowe took charge of Wigan Athletic mid-way through the second-half of last season. Lowe had become known for a defensive style of football, which is how Wigan have played in recent years, but at a lower level, he has been able to put together very attacking teams at Plymouth Argyle and Bury.

Mid-way through last season, in the middle of a major injury crisis at Sixfields, Kevin Nolan was appointed as Northampton Town boss as the Cobblers managed to push themselves clear of the bottom four. Nolan has already had a busy summer window, but has already discussed the fact he needs more signings this summer.

Dara Costelloe is now a Wigan player after his excellent loan spell at Northampton last year and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him play a key role in separating these two sides.

Wigan vs Northampton tip: Wigan to win & under 3.5 goals
