Who has scored the most Premier League hat-tricks for Everton?

Premier League regulars Everton have boasted plenty of hat-trick scorers over the course of their time in the division with names such as Tony Cottee, Duncan Ferguson and Romelu Lukaku contributing to over 15 Premier League hat-tricks since 1993.

Tony Cottee scored the first two Premier League hat-tricks for the Toffees back in 1993 and 1994 respectively, whilst other notable players to achieve the feat of scoring three goals in a Premier League fixture for Everton include Gary Speed, Andrei Kanchelskis and Wayne Rooney.

No player has yet managed to record three Premier League hat-tricks in an Everton shirt, perhaps a surprise when considering the goalscoring record of a striker such as Lukaku. The Belgian netted four goals in a single Premier League fixture whilst with Everton on February 2017 at home to Bournemouth, a match that finished 6-3 to the Toffees.

Less than a year prior to that, Lukaku had recorded his first Everton Premier League hat-trick in a 0-3 win on the road at Sunderland, one of a limited number of Everton hat-tricks to have been scored away from Goodison Park.

Everton have already accumulated a double figure number of Premier League hat-tricks since the turn of the century. One of those was scored by Wayne Rooney, but intriguing it was during his second spell at the club rather than his first, which saw a then teenage Rooney break out as English football's newest superstar.

Rooney's only Premier League hat-trick in Everton blue came in a 4-0 victory against West Ham at Goodison Park. It turned out to be the penultimate Premier League hat-trick at the famous old ground by an Everton player, with the last being scored by Dominic Calvert-Lewin against West Brom on September 19th 2020.
