St. George Illawarra Dragons team news

Head Coach Shane Flanagan’s patience with halfback Lachlan Ilias has expired and he is replaced by young talent Lyhkan King-Togia who will gain his first start in the No. 7 jersey. Ilias has struggled for most of the season, with the former Rabbitohs halfback failing to deliver when the game was on the line in several tight losses. Winger Sione Finau has also been dropped as Corey Allan makes his long-awaited club debut. Allan will play his first NRL game since rupturing his ACL last January. Blake Lawrie is dropped for the second time this month. He makes way for Hamish Stewart (concussion) who returns to the starting side with Jack de Belin shifting to the bench.

Wests Tigers vs St. George Illawarra Dragons prediction

The West Tigers escaped their clash with the Cronulla sharks with a 20-18 golden point victory. The match was handed to them on a platter with a penalty goal from directly in front after a Cronulla indiscretion.

The Dragon’s produced one of their poorest Anzac Day performances in some time, conceding 46 points to the Roosters in a developing trend of inconsistent play in their young season. Head Coach Shane Flanagan has made significant changes to the lineup this week in an attempt to rectify their issues in the halves.

The Dragons have won the last three matches between the two sides, including a 56-14 trouncing of the Tigers in Wollongong last year.

It is difficult to get a gauge on the Dragons and their inconsistent play so we think the Tigers can record back-to-back victories and move within range of the top eight.
