West Indies’ batting is full of big hitters which should serve them well across this match and the series as a whole. But one player who combines aggression with control is Keacy Carty. Having been given the opportunity to bat at number three across the Windies’ most recent ODI series against England, Carty justified the selection with 218 runs across three games which saw him dismissed just once by the England bowlers. Should he be selected again here vs the Tigers, then a play on him to finish as West Indies’ top batter in the first ODI has to be favoured.
Bangladesh Betting Analysis
Bangladesh will hope to bring the momentum of winning that second Test into the ODI series and when we talk about momentum, it would be remiss not to focus on batter Soumya Sarkar, who is coming off the back of having batted Rangpur Riders to a memorable Global Super League triumph in Guyana. Sarkar was named Player of the Tournament and racked up the most runs during the competition, 188 in all including 86 not out in the final. He’ll be looking to carry that form into the 50-over format and if picked by the Tigers, is well worth backing to accumulate 30+ runs here.

West Indies have shown themselves to be very good when it comes to ODI cricket recently, with their 2-1 series win over England a real statement. Bangladesh may well struggle to deal with the batting depth the Windies possess and their ability to pile up runs at a fast rate. It’s hard to see the tourists being able to match West Indies’ run-scoring prowess and backing the hosts to win this first match appears to be the sensible move.
