West Ham preview: First win for Espirito Santo
In what was potentially a turning point in the club's season, West Ham won their first game since Nuno Espirito Santo took charge last weekend when they came from behind to defeat Newcastle 3-1 at the London Stadium.
The Hammers remain in the bottom three heading into this fixture, but Espirito Santo will view this as a must-win game against a side who are directly above them in the Premier League table.
Burnley preview: Fighting away
After successive wins in the division, Burnley became the latest Premier League team to be kept scoreless by Arsenal with the leaders winning 0-2 at Turf Moor last Saturday.
Heading into the weekend, the Clarets sit three points clear of West Ham in the danger zone and know that a win here would significantly improve their survival prospects.
West Ham team news: Four still out
Konstantinos Mavropanos, Oliver Scarles, George Earthy and Niclas Fullkrug are still absent but it is hoped that all four will return to action at some point this year.
While not being drawn on any specific names, Espirito Santo did mention that a couple of players were carrying "knocks".
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Diouf; Potts, Paqueta; Bowen, Fernandes, Summerville; Wilson
Unavailable: Mavropanos (Injured), Scarles (Injured), Earthy (Injured), Fullkrug (Injured)
Questionable:
Burnley team news: Ekdal & Foster should be fine
Hjalmar Ekdal suffered a black eye in training but should be available for selection, and Lyle Foster is likely to make it with their being no mention of the illness that kept him out of last weekend's fixture.
Jordan Beyer, Connor Roberts and Zeki Amdouni are definitely out and won't be available until next year.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Dubravka; Walker, Tuanzebe, Esteve, Hartman; Cullen, Luis; Ugochukwu, Laurent, Anthony; Flemming
Unavailable: Beyer (Injured), Roberts (Injured), Amdouni (Injured)
Questionable: Ekdal (Injured), Foster (Illness)
West Ham vs Burnley prediction
It feels a little early to be talking about relegation six-pointers, but this fixture certainly feels like one with West Ham currently occupying 18th place, one place and three points behind Saturday's opponents Burnley.
It felt like a weight had been lifted off the Hammers last week though, with their 3-1 victory against Newcastle potentially signalling a turning point for them. Given the quality in their squad, it would be no surprise if they were to go on a bit of a run under the guidance of the Premier League-proven Espirito Santo.
Burnley have played well recently themselves, but we're edging the hosts to go back-to-back on home turf.
