Whilst Wellington Phoenix picked up another point last time out, it came with a bitter taste after giving up a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Melbourne City. Games involving the Phoenix are usually full of action, with over 2.5 goals scored in nine of their last ten matches. The same is expected in this next encounter as the hosts desperately try to secure a much-needed victory, but in the process potentially leave themselves exposed defensively.
Melbourne Victory have struggled with consistency over the past few weeks, although the last time they faced Wellington, it was a resounding success as the Victory came away with a 5-1 win. Having lost three of their most recent four, they also need to push for three points here, which should only increase the likelihood of a contest full of goals.
